A familiar home, thoughtfully renewed.

Tucked into a quiet corner of Vic West, our heritage building has welcomed travellers for years as the Spinnakers Guest House. Five rooms, gracious proportions, ocean breezes drifting up from the inner harbour, and the warmth of a neighbourhood that feels — even on your first night — already familiar.

Beginning June 1, 2026, the home is under new ownership, gently updated and renamed The Catherine St Guest House. Our commitment is simple: honour what guests have always loved here, and quietly improve everything else.

We are honoured to share that beginning June 1, 2026, the Spinnakers Guest House is under new ownership and a new name — The Catherine St Guest House.

Over the past several months we’ve had the genuine pleasure of getting to know the team at Spinnakers, and we are deeply grateful for the years of warmth and hospitality they have offered to so many. While the name above the door has changed, our intention is unchanged: to carry forward the legacy you’ve come to love — the heritage, the comfort, the unmistakable charm of this building and its place in the community — while thoughtfully refining and elevating the guest experience.

Transitions are rarely without their bumps. We understand this process can feel unfamiliar, even disruptive at times, and for that we ask for your patience and grace. What we can promise is this: our guests are our top priority. Your feedback, your stories, and your support mean a great deal to us. Whether it’s something you’ve loved in the past or something you’d like to see in the future — please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We also remain steadfast supporters of the local businesses that give Vic West its character — Spinnakers Brew Pub above all. They are, and will continue to be, our cherished neighbours, and your stay with us is a wonderful excuse to enjoy a meal or a pint right next door.
